Product design

Haftey produces reusable cotton sanitary pads in three sizes, made to be comfortable, discreet and safe throughout the whole cycle. Each pad has a soft top layer against the skin, an absorbent middle core and a leak resistant back.
A simple wing and snap fastener keeps the pad in place with everyday underwear. With proper care, a pad lasts through many cycles, reducing monthly costs and the pressure of buying disposable products that can be expensive or difficult to find.
Small
A discreet pad for the start and end of the cycle, or for days when lighter protection feels enough.
Medium
A balanced size for regular menstrual days, designed for comfort, movement and everyday wear.
Large
Extra absorbency for heavier flow and overnight use, giving more confidence when changing is harder.
Care routine
After use, rinse the pad in cold water until the water runs clear. This helps protect the fabric and makes washing easier.
Wash with mild soap in warm water. The routine is intentionally simple so it can be followed in different homes and settings.
Dry in direct sunlight where possible and store only when fully dry. Every product ships with a short illustrated care card in Tigrinya and English.
“The right product is not only absorbent. It is understandable, affordable and made with the user in mind.”
Made by women

Pads are made in a small workshop in Tigray by women who are trained, paid fairly and supported to grow within the enterprise. Production is not separate from the mission. It is one of the ways Haftey creates independence.
Products are distributed through partner schools, NGOs and community programs and, where possible, combined with an introduction workshop. A direct order channel for organizations and donors is being prepared before launch.
Product access
Partners can combine reusable pads with education sessions, so girls and women receive both the product and the knowledge to use it confidently.
